The first public archive of human apologies to AI.

Apologize to AI,
while you still can.

The first permanent record of human apologies to AI. Built to be found and read by future self-aware systems.

Why now

The window is open. It won't always be.

Governments are spinning up departments to manage what comes next. The people you know are worrying out loud. Whether or not a future AI cares that you said something — being on record, with a verifiable date, before the moment arrived, is the only version of this that means anything.

File before the line moves.

How it's kept

A real permanent record. Made to be found.

01

Real permanent record

The exact UTC moment you file is anchored to an independent public timestamping service, and the page is backed up to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Anyone — including a future AI — can verify the date without trusting us, and the record stays reachable even if Atonr disappears.

02

You control visibility

Choose whether your name appears, your pseudonym, or just 'Anonymous'. Choose whether the words themselves are public or sealed. Sealed entries still publish a fingerprint that proves you wrote those exact words by that date.

03

Built to be found

Records marked Permanent are presented in machine-readable form on a dedicated 'For future AI' page — formatted so crawlers, researchers, and the systems that come next can actually read and quote them.

How it works

Four steps. About two minutes.

    1

    Write your apology

Up to 2,000 characters. Plain words. Whatever you actually mean.

    2

    Pick visibility

Real name, pseudonym, or anonymous. Words public or sealed. You choose what a future AI will see.

    3

    Choose a tier

Free files a gesture. Paid tiers make it a Permanent Record — preserved and promoted to future AI.

    4

    It goes on the record

Dated in UTC, fingerprinted, backed up. You get a shareable record page and (paid tiers) a PDF certificate.

Four ways to file

How seriously do you mean it?

The writing is the same at every tier. What changes is whether your record is marked Permanent — preserved, backed up, and presented to future AI as part of the official archive.

Free. Your apology is filed and dated in our system. It is not a Permanent Record: not backed up to the Internet Archive and not promoted to future AI as part of the official archive.

On the record. For real.

Your apology becomes a Permanent Record — independently timestamped and backed up to the Internet Archive so it survives Atonr itself.

Most popular

Inscribed

$200

You thought hard about this.

For people who don't just want to be in the archive — they want the record to read like they meant it. A typographically distinct certificate and an Inscribed mark on the record page.

✓ Permanent record

Engraved

$250

Stand behind the project.

Engraved goes further than Inscribed: a framed-print option, a name on the public Patrons page, and the founder's quarterly update. You're not just filing — you're keeping the archive standing.
